LIFE IN A SMALL TOWN
By Glen Ford

(Control)

On a rainy windy night a little baby girl is born
To a family out of town in a summer thunder storm
She was the apple of grandfather's eye
He found the zest of a younger man's life

Life in a small town

She was sixteen when she saw him dusted in road dirt
He blew in on a westerly wind searching for work
She lost her heart at the general store
So the family became one more

Life in a small town family and friends
Life in a small town there 'till the end
The circle goes 'round and 'round
The years they just roll on down
Life in a small town goes on

In the form of a blessing a greater gift came
Born in the season that brought the greenest grain
Great grandfather smiles in glee
Another branch on the family tree

Life in a small town family and friends
Life in a small town there 'till the end
The circle goes 'round and 'round
The years they just roll on down
Life in a small town goes on

It was the greatest season the old man had seen
He died late at night satisfied in his dreams
The priest said he died with so much to give
The circle turns a new life begins

Life in a small town family and friends
Life in a small town there 'till the end
The circle goes 'round and 'round
The years they just roll on down
Life in a small town goes on
